All elements of drowning and disaster
-
Research focused on high risk populations
-
Research focused on regional issues, particularly from Africa, Pacific and the Americas
-
Occupational related drowning
-
Anything that presenters feel deserves consideration of the organising committee
-
If you, your organisation, institution or agency would like to submit an Abstract on a High Priority Area please email the Abstract to the Conference Secretariat at WCDP2011@rlssa.org.au.
Abstract Guide
An abstract guide has been prepared to assist authors and includes templates for authors seeking guidance. Note that these are guides only and submissions don't have to follow the exact framework in the templates. The conference organisers recommend that you use the section headings in the guide to help with the presentation of your information. However if you feel that a particular section heading in the guide is not relevant or there is a section heading you would like to add that helps to clarify your abstract then please add or delete at your discretion. Download the WCDP2011-Abstract Guide.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DETAILS
- All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Abstracts will be sorted into three categories: research, policy or practice.
- A WCDP2011-Abstract Guide has been prepared to assist authors. This includes templates for authors seeking guidance. Note, these are guides only and submissions don’t have to follow the exact framework in the templates.
- Abstracts are limited to 600 words.
- Abstracts from low-middle income countries are encouraged.
- More than one abstract may be submitted.
- Graphs, charts, tables or graphics cannot be included in your abstract.
- It is the responsibility of the submitting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly and includes the names of all authors. Where there are co-authors, only one abstract is to be submitted.
- The submitting author is responsible for ensuring the co-authors agree with the content. An abstract which does not adhere to these requirements is unlikely to be accepted.
- All confirmed abstracts will be published in the Conference Program and Proceedings. (Note - It is the authors responsibility to ensure accuracy of content, spelling and presentation, as abstracts will be published exactly as submitted).
Disclaimer: The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay any costs associated with attending the conference or the production of your presentation or poster (be these travel, accommodation or registration costs). Similarly, no speakers' fee, travel, accommodation, registration or other associated costs will be paid to successful authors. By submitting an abstract you confirm if successful that the Conference Organisers may publish the abstract in the Conference Program and Proceedings in both hard copy and/or electronic format. Reference to yourself or your abstract may also be used within marketing material to promote the Conference. The Conference Organisers and the Thematic Committees decision on acceptance of the abstracts will be final.
