Bay Thai restaurant offers delicious Vietnamese food prepared at a simple restaurant that is definitely off the beaten tourist track. Located opposite Marble Mountain, on picturesque Sandy Beach, Bay Thai can be found by following a non-descript dirt path that also houses an army barracks and a guest house.
Sandy Beach is located approximately 2kms drive past the Furama Resort on the road to Hoi An. Take the turn off to Hoa’s Place Guest House and at the end of the path, on the right hand side you will find Bay Thai restaurant. Set up on an elevated area overlooking Sandy Beach, the restaurant is the perfect place to take in the views of one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines. On a clear day you will enjoy views of the Son Tra Peninsula to your left and straight ahead to Cham Island.
Bay Thai is a simple restaurant with plastic chairs and tables and a reasonably priced English and Vietnamese language menu. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bay Thai has a good mix of vegetable, noodle, meat and seafood dishes. Prices range from 20,000 - 100,000VND for seafood dishes. Recommended are the sautéed noodle with seafood and vegetables (50,000VND) and the sautéed sliced beef with onion (50,000VND). The grilled pork with lemongrass and chilli (40,000VND) was superb, as was the grilled fish dish (55,000VND).
Also on offer are salads, soups and rice dishes and for drinking there is a range of local beers as well as soft drinks and water.
